In addition to our advertised online printed products and graphic design work we offer a number of services that are either free with every print or available as extras. Contact us with any queries you have about our services.

Free Image Consultation

If you are unsure of the suitability of your image or need help deciding what finish to go for just e-mail your image to info@fruit-art.co.uk with a brief description of your concerns and we will happily advise without charging you a penny.

Image Restoration

We can restore your favourite old, discoloured, torn or faded photographs to something much closer to their original glory. Prices start from free for minor blemish removal, up to about £30 for a heavily faded and damaged photo requiring much attention. E-mail us a scan or quick snapshot of your photo and we will be able to advise.

Image Enhancement

When you order any print from us we will automatically remove red-eye and if necessary we will tweak to make sure the colours are correct and the contrast is optimal. If on the other hand we are instructed otherwise or it seems you are going for a particular abstract or vivid effect, then we will print the picture as it is. For your information it is easier to brighten a dull photo and keep the detail than darken an overexposed/bright photo (where a photo has "clipped" to white then the detail can never be recaptured, but it may be possible to clone small areas or skies form other areas of your photo).

Image Enlargement

When you order a large size print from us good original image quality will always aid good final print quality (see our FAQs for guidelines). However, most people are surprised how well the quality of the original is retained when we enlarge an image. This is because we enlarge in small steps using algorithms that intelligently replace pixels rather than simply enlarge into bigger blocks in one go. There are several trade secrets for then further enhancing the result as necessary.

Colour Profiling and Proofing

All our printers and media are professionally colour profiled and checked for neutral acidity prior to printing. We use the latest sRGB colour modelling to ensure that the print is likely to match as near as possible the average home PC monitor on normal settings.

If exact colour tone is vital to you upon request we can send you a small colour accurate proof on paper or canvas for £2 which is then recoverable against an order for that print if you choose to go ahead. The other way round is to send us a colour proof from your printer and ask us to match it. This takes time and sometimes up to 10 trial prints to get a close match so there is a charge of £5 for this service.

Graphic Design and Art Prints Printing

We can offer full graphic design and printing for business or private use, specialising in posters and large format but we are also able to source and help with any print or web project. Contact us with details of your project and we will happily quote.

Lamination

Our plant list includes a neschen 42inch cold laminator. For conservation reasons we never laminate any of our fine art products available on this site. We can laminate large posters and banners of business or personal use. For our fine art products we use museum grade liquid print seals where protection is required.
