Artisan Montage
This is perhaps the most modern and captivating of all the effects available not just at Fruit Art, but anywhere on the market. The Oxford definition of artisan is “skilled worker who makes things by hand” and there is a great number of separate design skills and manual graphic work involved in creating each of these unique pieces of art. There is no set template or rigid formula, each one will be inspired by the subject and mood of the supplied photos, along with any specific instruction you give. We tend to use a mixture of black and white together with one accent colour which can be very subtle or very strong according to your preference. Sometimes we can pick a symbolic or significant feature from your photo and repeat it throughout the design as a motif – perhaps a leaf, a landmark or a moment such as a kiss.
Tips
- 2- 10 photos is normally ample as we repeat and blend for effect
- Weddings, friendships, trips, and ancestry make good themes
- Old photos and slides can mingle brilliantly with the new (free scanning offered)
- Choose an accent colour that matches your décor
- Modern finishes such as canvas and Perspex go great in modern rooms
Classic Montage
This is an old but fantastic idea given a new lease of life when printed on canvas, Perspex or framed. It’s much more hip and attractive than sticking a load of photos together under a clip frame or pinning them to your wall. We also do the hard work of arranging them for you – simply send us your digital photos by e-mail after ordering. We can also scan film or traditional photographs for free! As always our previewer contains examples so that you can visualise your product before ordering, even though the actual artwork will be created later by designers. It will be sent to your e-mail address for approval before printing. We can make your montage in colour, black and white or sepia.
Tips
- Image quality less important due to smaller size of individual photos
- Use 10-30 photos for small sizes
- Use 20-50 for medium sizes
- Use 40-100 photos for large or extra large sizes
- Holidays, weddings, childhoods and family events make great themes
